Hi, I am Alex
I’m based in Aylesford, Kent, with my wife Tania and our three children — Daniel, Liza and Alexei. I work across London and beyond.
1. My first photos were taken when I was five — my father gave me a camera, and I made a few portraits of him outside our house. I was especially excited when we developed and printed that roll of film ourselves, in a darkroom. Since then, I’ve rarely been without a camera.
2. Around twenty years ago, I started working at Panther Imaging in Hatton Garden — one of the best professional photo labs in London — scanning thousands of rolls of film for leading UK and international photographers.
3. That time, and the people around me, shaped my eye for image and colour. I’m still in love with analogue photography, and always happy to shoot on film.
4. I never ask people to pose. I shoot naturally, capturing genuine moments as they happen.
